- Training Week: (15 hours)
- Program Dates ($792.00/week + Accommodation): ASAP - August 19, 2023 (48hrs/week)
- Meals in the New College Dining Hall during working hours (during program dates) will be provided as a taxable benefit.

**About**:
University of Toronto, New College, invites students from all over the world to join our vibrant community. Students will spend three weeks in the University of Toronto’s downtown campus developing the necessary skills to create a more peaceful, connected, and inclusive world. Our dedicated team of counsellors, staff, and instructors will offer a summer of fun educational experience in the classroom, the residence, and while exploring our beautiful city.

**Camp Counsellors will be responsible for**:

- Direct supervision of medium-sized (20-30), highly diverse student groups, aged 15-18, throughout the duration of the program including; programming, events, transportation, and meals both off and on campus.
- Planning, preparation, and execution of program activities (both on and off-campus)
- Development and facilitation of daily leadership workshops
- Serving as late-night residence supervisors
- Other duties as assigned based on International Program needs

**Camp Counsellors report to**:
Camp Coordinators, who oversee the day-to-day operations, Pre-U Counsellors, and any student issues

**Additional Job Information**:

- We aim to hire a balanced counsellor team
- An average workday varies based on the needs of the camp
- An average work week consists of 6 days
- 1 day off per week operating on a rotating schedule
- Working hours may vary

**Job Requirements**:

- Be able to work cooperatively with your coworkers as one team
- Be able to work independently and take initiative as needed
- Have excellent communication and listening skills
- Be able to effectively work in a respectful manner with people from different cultures and backgrounds
- Be able to remain calm, patient, and adaptable in high stress situations
- Be able to plan, organize, and execute safe and fun activities and programs for students
- Develop & facilitate Global Citizenship Programming for an international ESL student audience
- Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude around students and chaperones
- Responsibility, punctuality, maturity, and reliability are must-have assets
- You must be a student currently enrolled in a university or college program

**Qualities/Assets**:

- Experience working in a camp setting
- Experience working with youth and/or adult students
- Experience working in an ESL environment
- Leadership and Global Citizenship experience, training, or education
- Familiarity with areas of interest in Toronto (especially tourist areas)
- Must have interests in various activities ranging from sports to art
- Create a fun, approachable, and energetic space for students
- Ability to be creative and resourceful
- Must be able to respond quickly and effectively in potential crisis situations
