The strategic procurement manager will be responsible for managing the strategic procurement work necessary for the target price.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Providing strategic direction on the procurement activities to Dev Co.
- Supporting the target price work, de-risking the implementation schedule by securing long lead items/supplier engagement
- Developing and maintaining strong collaborative working relationships with Dev Co and the CA, developing mutual trust and understanding.
- Supporting the procurement of the subcontractors through RFP to financial close on behalf of the CA.
- Supporting the procurement strategy development, including vendor optimisation, local and sustainable vision realisation assessed against balancing cost, contracting strategy, efficient use of correct procurement route, performance-based supply and market outreach optimisation.
- Supporting Dev Co to secure market coverage on the target price at each checkpoint and proposal stage.
- Managing supplier engagement to ensure project awareness in the market and secure the services of the best of the supply chain.
- Managing early engagement with the supply chain to support the project, with or without agreements in place.
- Managing early procurement of critical and long lead items.
- Supporting the procurement manager in the development and deployment of the procurement plan and new processes.
- Ensuring compliance against their procurement management plan.
- Validating tendered packages and issuing any non-objections.
- Ensuring the correct terms and conditions are issued to the supply chain.
- Addressing and managing project and supply chain delivery issues.

You’ll need to have:

- Relevant experience in large engineering and construction projects.
- Relevant experience working in large teams.
- Ability to conduct procurement projects in public sector procurement.
- Understanding in working with multiple stakeholders in the implementation, deployment, and administration of program procurement initiatives.
- Deploying and administering procurement initiatives to ensure their deployment and effectiveness in achieving improved project outcomes.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
