**The Director, ASD, will play a critical role in overseeing the final decision-making program for the WSIB and it’s critical impact on injured and ill people and businesses across Ontario in reducing the impact of work-related injuries and illnesses. As the Director, you will oversee teams of skilled professionals, interact with internal and external stakeholders in continuous improvements and strategic and operational planning, and give expert and technical advice to senior leadership throughout WSIB on legislation and policy. **About The Role**

The Director, ASD will oversee and direct the overall planning, development, delivery and evaluation of the Appeals Services Division's (ASD) programs including its products and services and annual budget in achieving ongoing success. The role will provide expert advice, consultation and direction to team members, advice to WSIB senior leadership as well as other stakeholders on WSIA legislation, policy, administrative law principles & practices as well as a broad range of ASD's programs, products, services, strategic and operational initiatives.

**On a Practical Level, You Would**
- Plan, direct and oversee the day-to-day operation and administration of the ASD through teams responsible for the delivery of programs and services.
- Plan and develop short and long term branch business plans to support WSIB, Cluster and divisional strategic and operational goals and objectives and respond to changing business initiatives or organizational strategies.
- Lead the development and implementation and evaluation of initiatives relating to continuous improvement efforts in service delivery and/or quality assurance and/or program development.
- Act as technical resource, providing input, advice and guidance to all levels internally from staff to senior leadership, as well as external stakeholders
- Represent ASD interests at various leadership meetings and committees internally and externally
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships internally with business partners and/or all levels of leadership and/or externally with stakeholders and/or preferred suppliers and/or advocacy groups as required.
- Identify ongoing and changing needs, and ensure programs, services and work processes are aligned with business needs to guarantee ongoing success of the ASD program for the people and businesses we are here to help.

**Your Qualifications**

**Education**:

- University degree

**Experience**:

- 10+ years of a progressive leadership career with experience in large organizations dealing with insurance and/or disability management, law and/or tribunal services and/or public sector leadership with exposure to varied stakeholders. Public sector experience preferred
- Experience working in a unionized environment
