**Reports to: Managers, Visitor Experience**

**Position Description**:
Science World is piloting a new souvenir photo experience this summer for our visitors. Using innovative software and AI technology, visitors will instantly be able to see their pictures on a variety of fun and engaging Science World backgrounds.

Reporting to the Visitor Experience Managers, the Souvenir Photographer will be engaging directly with our visitors to provide friendly, fun, awesome, souvenir photography at Science World. Your enthusiasm and inspiration will make the souvenir photography experience an unmissable part of a visit to Science World

As a facility, Science World is generally open to the public seven days a week, with some extended evening hours in the summer months. Typical office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm, with front-facing and operational teams also working a variety of shifts including weekends, holidays and evenings. Hours of work and other related requirements will be scheduled according to business needs and this may include special events on evenings, weekends and holidays.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide Science World visitors with a fun, friendly and inclusive souvenir photography experience
- Proactively interact with visitors to promote the souvenir photography offering
- Encourage visitor participation by explaining the process, pricing and answering questions
- Operate digital SLR camera and photo tagging software
- Direct visitors on where to stand for their photograph, distribute QR codes and explain how to access tagged photos
- Ensure smooth and timely transitions between visitor groups to maximize throughput
- Set up and take down tripod and camera equipment at the beginning and end of each day
- Assist in smooth operation of all ancillary services
- Perform other related duties as required to fulfill any changing business needs of this role

**Qualifications**:

- Must be responsible, self-motivated, confident and enthusiastic
- Ability to be flexible, adapt to unexpected situations, troubleshoot and multitask
- Demonstrated ability to work well with children and their adults
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Previous experience working in customer service, or other relevant experience
- Proven ability to manage visitor groups of varying size and composition
- Experience using cameras, photographic equipment, and photographic software considered an asset
- Must be available to work **32 hours per week**, including Saturdays and Sundays, and occasional weekday evenings
- Must be physically able to safely lift at least 12 kg

This is a unionized position represented by CUPE 1004.

The rate for this role is $17.40/hour plus 4% vacation pay.
