**POSITION OVERVIEW**

**FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning and blasting as necessary.
- Utilize a variety of blasting media such as steel grit, sand, and glass to remove rust, scale, and contaminants from surfaces.
- Mix and maintain proper blasting media consistency and flow according to specifications.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling, storage, and disposal of blasting media and related products.
- Collaborate closely with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Maintain and clean blasting equipment including nozzles, hoses, and blast pots to ensure proper functioning and longevity.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in industrial painting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Flexibility to work varied shift schedules as required.
- Proficient in English communication and reading skills.
- Knowledge of Wet/Dry Mill Gauge, Replica Tape and PosiTector is an asset.
- NACE or SSPC training is preferred but not required.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 50lbs/23kg regularly and up to 100lbs/45kg occasionally.
- Stamina to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods.
- Visual acuity including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
