**DESCRIPTION**

An Industrial Painter at our **Lopes Industrial Paint Shop **is responsible for supporting the painting operations.

**FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES**

Management and accountability for blasting and coating fabricated steel components.

Perform a variety of painting duties such as high steel, sand blasting and preparation

Knowledge of all types of Industrial Paint such as; Alkyd, Enamel, Polyurethane, Epoxies, Endura and Zinc

Uses a high-pressure airless sprayer

Knowledge of methods and techniques related to painting, safe use, storage and disposal of paint and cleaning products

Mix and thin paint or other coating to specified consistency according to standards formulas, using mixing equipment

Mask and cover surfaces not to be painted

Knowledge of Wet and Dry Mill Gauge using microns and mils

Knowledge of Replica Tape to determine the sandblast profile

Successfully paint fabricated steel packages with minimum runs and sags

Ensure high level of cleanliness for areas of accountability

NACE or SSPC training is an asset

Other duties and tasks as required by supervisor.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**

3+ years of industrial painting experience, required

Quality sensitive

Ability to work productively independently and in a team environment

Flexible, self-motivated and driven to achieve deadlines

Ability to work varied shift schedules

Ability to communicate and read in English

Attention to detail

The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
