Our Inside Technical Sales Representative will position prospects and qualify new sales leads, work inside sales opportunities through the technical sales process, assisting members of the outside sales team to meet current customers’ needs and hand off leads as appropriate. This role is primarily responsible for preparing accurate and timely quotations for the Regional Sales Managers.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Assisting Outside Sales Team**:
- Demonstrating awareness of company, branch, and territory targets and strategies
- Identifying and relaying customer opportunities, issues and concerns
- Responds to inbound leads, qualifies those leads, and moves them through the sales process
- Building customer relationships
- Executing quotation follow-up as well as maintaining and updating the sales quotation log in our Customer Relationship Management software
- Follows product/supply checklist for each customer’s job, identifies sales opportunities, and sells additional products and supplies
- Coordinates communications and activities with Outside Sales Team
- Closes sales and achieves sales goals
- Provides support to Outside Sale Team by maintaining and expanding the database of prospects
**Product Selection and Quotation Preparation**:
- Gathering appropriate process information from the client
- Pricing within company guidelines
- Discover and Develops solutions to customer problems and requirements by learning and understanding current products
- Other duties as required
**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**:
- Minimum 5 years of customer service / inside sales in mechanical/industrial pipe and fittings, fire protection, waterworks and/ or general plumbing
- Attention to detail and accuracy is critical
- Superior interpersonal skills with a high degree of organization
- Willingness to grow and improve upon previous technical knowledge
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management, decision making, resolution and creative thinking skills
- Proven ability to successfully multi-task with shifting priorities
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products
- Professional phone presence and excellent communication skills
