**Background**:Flemingdon Health Centre (FHC) is an engaged and involved member of some of Toronto’s most dynamic neighborhoods; Flemingdon Park, Fairview and Thorncliffe Park. FHC is a registered charity and an incorporated not-for-profit Community Health Centre (CHC), with a vision of Strong Healthy Communities. Across our three sites, we provide a range of health-related services based on the social determinants of health with extensive community engagement.

Our approach to community health encompasses the social determinants of health which includes: education, employment, isolation, food security and social supports, and utilizes a community development model to promote health, prevent disease, and strengthen community capacity. **Position Summary**:
The Interim Manager, Operations and Risk ensures business continuity at all three of FHC’s locations in the areas of facilities, vendor contracts, organizational risk and capital planning management.

**Responsibilities include**:
**Facilities Management**:

- Plan, direct and supervise facilities management including building/equipment maintenance, cleaning and repairs, organizational systems such as phones, security, office equipment and supplies, and contractors at all FHC sites
- Ensure all planned and essential service maintenance is performed and documented
- Train and support staffs responsible for facilitating site specific duties such as liaising with cleaners and contractors, ordering of supplies and equipment, etc.
- Develop, implement and continuously improve policies and processes related to site operations including planned preventative maintenance and issue resolution
- Develop, negotiate and monitor lease negotiations for all equipment and premises
- Plan, manage and report on facilities budget

**Contract Management**:

- Evaluate, negotiate and execute contracts, including monitoring contract lifecycle: adherence to contract requirements (SLAs, quality, cost, etc.), closeout, extension or renewal as appropriate
- Manage vendor and outsourced relationships including maintaining accurate correspondence and documentation, processes, productivity reviews, contracts and issue resolution
- Optimize vendor contracts to improve value for money
- Prepare reports and briefs for the Senior Leadership Team evaluating contract services
- Develop and manage standard approach to organizational RFP/RFQ process

**Risk Management/Emergency Preparedness**:

- Ensure appropriate health & safety standards are met
- Ensure compliance of legislative and sector standard requirements such as AODA, Privacy and Occupational Health and Safety and by coordinating with members of the Management Committee
- Participates in the Health and Safety Committee including responding to and investigating concerns and complaints from staff and investigating accidents/injuries that occur in the workplace
- Partner with the leadership team to implement programs / plans related to: environmental health and safety, security of building and physical assets, emergency response, and business continuity
- Manage annual review of insurance policy and interface with insurance providers regarding adequacy of coverage
- Ensure security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly
- Plan, direct and supervise risk management policy review cycles

**Capital Planning Management**:

- Develop and implement 3-year and 10-year capital plans for both equipment and building repairs/replacements aligned with the strategic needs of FHC
- Plan, source and implement CIRF, FCAP and other capital processes
- Develop reports for the Senior Leadership Team and Board Committees for the approval of capital projects including regular project status updates
- Ensure the timing of capital expenditure is aligned with the organization’s cashflow needs
- In partnership with third-party vendors, oversee the procurement and implementation of capital projects
