**About The Waldorf School**

Established in 1971, The Vancouver Waldorf School (VWS) offers school programs from Parent and Tot through to Grade 12. Our school operates under a transparent, fair and equitable governance structure through a College of Teachers that effectively empowers faculty to participate in the running of the school and through a Board of Trustees with fiduciary responsibilities.

**The Position**

We are currently seeking a full-time educational leader with strong administrative, leadership and pedagogical skills. The Interim Principal must be a role model/mentor who can demonstrate strong and effective leadership to students, parents, and teachers alike, as well as sound instructional strategies and administrative abilities. The Interim Principal at VWS serves a key leadership role and is a part of the school management team. As such, the Interim Principal works in a collaborative and/or consultative manner with school stakeholders in order to support the mission, vision and values of the Vancouver Waldorf School.

**Qualifications**
- BC College of Teachers Certificate or BC Independent School Teaching Certificate (or in process of obtaining certificate for start of educational year)
- Five years teaching experience.
- Experience in a leadership role in a Waldorf school preferable.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong analytic and problem solving abilities.

**Skills and Qualities**
- Relationship building amongst key stakeholders including teachers, parents, students, and external governing bodies such as Ministry of Education & Federation of Independent School Association (FISA).
- Working collaboratively with a diverse group of faculty and staff.
- Effectively managing a wide array of tasks, projects, and responsibilities.
- Being a warm, friendly, highly organized self-starter capable of working independently and as a part of a team.
- Demonstrating a significant commitment to ongoing professional learning
- Nurturing an inclusive school culture based on collaboration and interdependence
- Having a deep understanding of curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Having experience in human resources including hiring and termination, evaluation, progressive discipline techniques, and personnel administration a strong asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 11 months

**Salary**: $53,800.00-$80,800.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
