**Course Description/Relevant Employment Duties**

This course introduces students to Anthropology and its sub-disciplines through a discussion of some of the big questions and issues that anthropologists investigate in contemporary and past societies. These include issues of religion and worldview, race and racism, power and inequality, and social justice from archaeological, biological, and sociocultural perspectives. Through this course you will develop an understanding of how anthropological approaches can be used to better understand humanity, past and present.
Lectures, discussion (three hours); one term

**Required Qualifications**

A PhD or ABD in Anthropology (or related discipline) is required. Selection will be based on seniority, academic qualifications, teaching competence, ability to perform the various duties of the Appointment, and previous academic employment experience (these criteria are not listed in order of priority.)
- Supplemented Fees
- 15.02(a) The employee may be eligible to receive supplemented fees in accordance with Schedule C of the Collective Agreement. The actual rate of pay when in excess of the base rate of pay is deemed to include any supplemented fees owing, to the extent of the excess amount. If the actual rate of pay is less than the sum of the base rate of pay and the supplemented fees owing, then the employee shall receive the difference.
