Sustane Technologies Inc. is a clean technology company focused on waste transformation. Sustane has developed and is commercializing a set of disruptive processes to transform municipal solid waste (MSW) streams into high value fuels and recyclable materials.
Sustane's core concept is the complete separation of MSW and their technology breakthrough delivers pure products that were not previously possible. The result is unprecedented value recovery and waste diversion levels with the potential to practically eliminate landfills in the future. Sustane believes that current consumption and waste patterns are simply not sustainable and that we must fundamentally challenge how we sustain ourselves on this planet.
We are currently seeking Operation Technicians to join our growing team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing plant operations.
- Monitoring and troubleshoot operating equipment. Performing or assisting in preventive and routine maintenance.
- Identify process deviations and perform root cause/corrective action.
- Maintaining work areas to a high level of cleanliness. Use forklift or other mobile equipment to support the operation.
- Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances at all times.
As an Operating Technician, you will take the front-line responsibility for continuous (shift) operation of the facility. The process is highly automated and while the role is primarily control room focused, field operations and monitoring are also a key requirement. You will perform daily checks to ensure equipment is running properly by monitoring and troubleshooting the equipment that will include boilers, air heaters, process reactors, cleaning systems, conveyors, dryers, pelletizers, pumps and other processing equipment. You will work closely with Sustane’s maintenance team to ensure efficient and timely equipment diagnosis and response to breakdowns. You will issue work and test permits to electrical and mechanical maintenance personnel and assist them with locating technical issues. You will lock out equipment as required for safe operational and maintenance access. You will be knowledgeable in operating automated/computerized control systems in the plant. You will work with the engineering team to improve performance and look for ways to continuously improve the processes.
If you are passionate about creating a clean and sustainable world for ourselves and for future generations and are excited at the prospect of joining a dynamic and growing Nova Scotia company, then we would like to hear from you.
