Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the **Human Resources Manager** will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a busy and high-performing HR department. They will lead and develop team members, as well as providing support and guidance to business leaders in a unionized environment.

**Responsibilities**
- Team management, coaching and delegation of workloads
- Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
- Provide guidance to Managers on disciplinary measures, including terminations
- Provide recommendations to Managers in the annual compensation review and coordinate the process
- Pursue and obtain workplace accreditations
- Review and recommend improvements to Performance Management process
- Development of Career Path planning including implementation of necessary technology
- Maintain pay plan and benefits program
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
- Work with internal business partners to improve current processes and increase efficiencies
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management in effectively managing Human Resources initiatives, programs, and activities
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
- Analyze trends and metrics to identify issues and develop effective HR solutions, programs, and policies in response
- Management of union relations, including the grievance process
- Collective bargaining of union agreements
- Other duties, as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory Human Resources role
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources or Business
- Experience in the construction industry (as well as industrial, manufacturing, etc.) is a definite asset
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including change management, facilitation, coaching and conflict resolution
- Proven ability to influence and to drive change
- Previous experience in a unionized environment is an asset
