Sooke Harbour House in Sooke, British Columbia, is inviting individuals to join the exciting reopening team of this iconic West Coast property.

With a comprehensive renovation nearing completion, with its ocean-view dining room, lounge, kitchen, and bakery, Sooke Harbour House is looking for individuals to be part of this relaunch.

**JOB TITLE: Dishwasher**

**REPORTS TO: Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef**

**DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, & TASKS**:

- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using industrial dishwashing equipment or by hand as required.
- Sort, stack, and organize cleaned dishes and utensils for storage or immediate use.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time, also have the ability to lift upwards of 50 lbs
- Ensure that all dishes and utensils are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards.
- Empty trash bins and remove garbage from kitchen areas as needed.
- Clean and maintain dishwashing equipment, including regular cleaning of filters and sanitizing the machine.
- Assist with the cleaning of kitchen surfaces, countertops, and equipment.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors to maintain cleanliness and prevent slip hazards.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of kitchen waste and recycling materials.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs for kitchen equipment or facilities to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries of kitchen supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Follow instructions from kitchen supervisors and managers to ensure smooth operation of the dishwashing area.
- Uphold standards of cleanliness and sanitation to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Stay informed about current menu offerings, promotions, and special events to effectively communicate with guests.
- Participate in training sessions and ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in hospitality service.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor, always embodying the values and culture of the hotel restaurant.

**Qualifications**
- Be able to effectively communicate within a team
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and work with your hands for extensive periods of time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
