Resource Worker

Linck Child, Youth & Family Supports (“Linck”) requires a **Resource Worker**. This is a contract, full-time (70 hour bi-weekly) position beginning as soon as possible and lasting six (6) months.
The Resource Worker provides a variety of services related to the support of foster parents. Services related to the orientation, training and approval process for those individuals interested in providing foster care for a child/youth. He/she provides services related to the selection and placement of a child/youth in a foster care home upon the request of another social worker.
**Qualifications**:
- Four year honours bachelors degree (ba); bachelor of social work degree (bsw);or indigenous degree would be an asset
- Up to three (3) months of practical experience working with children, youth, families; directly related child welfare experience is an asset
- Up to date knowledge of foster care handbook; ministry standards and regulations; the risk assessment model for child protection in ontario; the child, youth and family services act; ministry standards and guidelines is an asset
- Completion of training in pride curriculum and safe home study tool is an asset
- Experience related to services coordinating with knowledge of infant/child/youth development and family dynamics
- Knowledge of dynamics of separation and attachment between parent figures and children/youth
- Preference will be given to proven ability and willingness to work as an integral member of a team
- Strong assessment skills in order to assess clients’ needs, formulate plans of service and monitor/evaluate progress
- Preference will be given to persons with a strong understanding and extensive experience working with other cultures, heritages and traditions
- A commitment to developing the highest quality culturally responsive service possible for the various communities that we serve
- Proven crisis intervention skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Computer literate
- The ability to communicate in french is an asset
- A valid driver’s license and use of a reliable personal vehicle
