Human Resources Generalist

Trenergy is a 100 percent locally owned fabrication plant in St. Catharines, Ontario specializing in the manufacture of boilers, pressure vessels, and structural steel construction. We are looking for a self-directed individual that is passionate about people to join our team. We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefit package including RRSP contributions. This is a 20 month contract position.
**Human Resources Responsibilities Include**:
- Enhance the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and the collective agreement,
- Respond to management and employee inquiries regarding policies and procedures.
- Manage labour relations including responding to grievances, ensuring proper documentation of meetings, effective communication and issuing letters of understanding to employees.
- Responsible for full cycle recruitment including the onboarding and orientation of new hires.
- Administration of personnel information in payroll software and the maintenance of employee files relating to hiring, benefits, training, disciplines, injuries, terminations, etc.
- Administer benefits programs including health, dental, life insurance, disability programs and RRSPs.
- Manage WSIB and STD claims including thoroughly investigating injuries, making arrangements for early and safe return to work and communicating effectively with WSIB and Insurance provider.
- Coordinate JHSC meetings by preparing minutes, tracking WSIB related injuries, providing and/or scheduling training for existing employees.
- Process payroll weekly utilizing Sage software and complete government remittances as required.
**Education, Training and Experience**
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources.
- 3-5 years of Human Resource Management experience.
- Experience processing payroll is an asset.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Experience with JobBOSS preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
