The Driving Force Group of Companies is looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join their growing Safety team The Health & Safety Advisor will support the health and safety program through monitoring of and participation in day-to-day safety activities and larger projects. Reporting to the Supervisor, QHSE, the primary objective of this position will be centered around coordinating efforts with branch personnel to improve overall safety at Driving Force.

Main Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Ensure open communication on the status of, progress and resolution against open projects, risk mitigation efforts and audits.
- Participate in the delivery of safety bulletins, communications and programs that support the Health and Safety Management System. This includes policy roll-out and implementation as determined by manager.
- Maintain COR Auditor status and perform annual internal audits and support the coordination, execution and follow-up required for external audits.
- Assure the company’s incident and complaint reporting system (Benchmark) is up to date and fully utilized including responding to reports, defining root cause, and recommending corrective actions.
- Review Incident trends, prepare monthly and adhoc reports and advise on prevention initiatives.
- Responsible for WCB - Submit Employer reports, liaise between worker and WCB case manager, arrange for appropriate modified work agreements, and manage all WCB claims until WCB clears worker for full pre-accident duties.
- Incident Management and investigations:

- Ensure all injury related incidents are reported within 24hrs
- Administer and oversee modified duties coordination and return to work program
- act as key point of contact between operations, injured employees and third party for all incidents.
- Support site management to ensure the early and safe return to work for injured employees.
- Lead all incident investigations, including first aid and MVA’s to determine root cause, and support the corrective action process to ensure implementation and proper closure is obtained.
- Summarize and provide monthly reporting summary to leadership team
- Ensure all investigations are completed in a timely manner with root cause(s) and corrective action identified and ensure this is followed-up and implemented at site level
- Conduct hazard and risk assessments and assure these are documented and in place for all operations and roles.
- Regularly monitor changes in processes or legislation and updates internal policies/ procedures

accordingly.
- Organize, develop, promote and implement QHSE Initiatives & Safety Campaigns.
- Ensure site leadership and team members are knowledgeable of their responsibilities under all

applicable HSE policies.
- Conduct Safety Meetings and publish regular safety, quality and operational briefings.
- Oversee 3rd party auditing systems to ensure compliance for the company as applicable
- Other related duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent is an asset
- 4+ years’ experience in a similar role
- CRSP Designation an asset
- Thorough understanding of all Federal and Provincial OH&S related legislation, regulations, and standards is preferred
- Experience with 3rd party auditing systems such as ISNetworld, Avetta, ComplyWorks is required
- Experience with administering WCB claims and modified work programs is required
- Knowledge of National and Provincial Transportation Safety Code standards is an asset
- Strong organizational skills, and strong attention to detail are required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
- Intermediate to advance Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities at once
