Instructor, Crane and Hoist

SAIT’s **School of Manufacturing, Automation & Transportation** provides the skills-based training and development to prepare students for a career in Alberta's rapidly growing oil and gas, transportation, manufacturing and automation sectors. We provide applied learning in action through our trades and technology programs.
**The Opportunity**

**The Role**:
- Instruct high level courses to mature learners
- Prepare and present lectures and labs
- Develop course outlines, profiles and curriculum
- Participate in curriculum and program reviews
- Maintain a safe work environment and keep records of grades, FLHA’s and lift procedures
- Prepare additional study and lab materials for learners
- Evaluate student progress and achievement
- Provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to learners
- Maintain close contact with relevant industry sectors
- Oversee lifting and hoisting operations in our yard
- Promote our program through open house, try-a-trades and promotional events as needed
- Perform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its students
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Minimum 5 years experience in crane industry
- Must hold a Journeyperson and Red Seal Certificate as a Crane and Hoisting Equipment Operator - Tower Crane
- Secondary Red Seal or Alberta Journeyperson ticket in Ironworking or Mobile Crane is considered a major asset
- Prior teaching experience or formal teaching education are considered an asset
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
**Knowledge & Skills**:
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Aptitude for mentoring and coaching others
- Possess a positive, respectful attitude, and a high commitment to student success and collaboration

**Salary range**:$85,388 - $91,482.00
