The Warehouse Assistant reports to the Warehouse Coordinator or designate and is part of the Costume and Props team within the Production Department. This role’s primary focus is on the Costume side of the Costume and Props warehouse. The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for assisting with the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of all aspects relating to the Costume and Props Warehouse.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide professional customer service to potential clients of the Warehouse
- Assist with preparation of rentals, shipping and receiving costumes and props
- Assist the Warehouse Coordinator with data entry of information related to cataloguing of costume and prop stock
- Assist Festival staff and rental customers with pulling costumes and props
- Assist in general organization of the warehouse
- Assist in the handling of archival items following proper protocols and preparation of associated paperwork
- Adhere to the Stratford Festival Health & Safety Commitment and Procedures, and ensure that safe work practices and policies are supported and enforced within reporting structure
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary diploma program, typically a two year program, or equivalent experience with costumes is an asset
- Proven knowledge of costume period history and basic sewing skills
- Physical aspects of the job require physical labour, primarily lifting 35 lbs from floor to waist and above the head. Requires working on ladders for extended periods of time
- Comfortable with working at heights

This full time contract position is located in Stratford, Ontario and will begin February 11, 2024 - May 31, 2024.
