The WRLA Academy was formalized in 2023 to provide a home for industry relevant training in the building supply industry. Our members represent all building material products from start to finish found in residential, commercial, and agricultural construction. We are an essential industry to every construction project and our purpose is to ensure that this industry is well represented and has strong education and professional development opportunities.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Develop curriculum, using adult learning design principles.
- Develop interactive and multimedia-rich eLearning content using tools such as Articulate 360, Vyond, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Manage the TalentLMS platform to upload and oversee eLearning content.
- Work with SMEs to extract important information and translate it into learning material for both in person and eLearning courses.
- Supports the planning of the annual training calendar and delivery.
- Support and assist with educational webinars, professional development sessions at events etc.
- Facilitates research and gap analysis to identity training and workforce needs.
- Works closely with the Education committee to assess industry data and gaps to ensure relevant training and development programs are established.
- Arranges development and updates of training to meet sector needs.
- Engage and develop strong working relationships with various stakeholders such as members, primary and post-secondary education institutions in Western Canada as required.
- Promote training services and a positive public awareness of WRLA, LBM industry and the career options available among its memberships.
- Provide support to the team for WRLA’s annual trade show.
- Provide support in WRLA’s participation in community events as needed (career fairs for example)
- Coordinates community outreach presentations and activities (classroom, seminars, conference presentations, trade shows) as necessary.

**Qualifications**:

- 2 - 5 years’ experience in the areas of: Adult learning, training, and development.
- Proven experience using Articulate 360 and LMS systems.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, adult education, human resource management, community development or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle and ability to travel from time to time.
- Previous experience in a not-for-profit work environment would be an asset.
