**Opportunity: Claims Manager**
- You will lead an experienced team of claims professionals at Intact Public Entities.
- This team is responsible for the management of complex liability, property, E&O, and other municipal and public entity claims.
- Your claims experience and strive for excellence will help you successfully manage the day-to-day operations of your team.

- Manage the day-to-day operation of your team to achieve essential business goals and meet customer service expectations.
- Act as claims authority within areas of expertise and provide direction on such issues as file handling, policy interpretation, legal and technical issues, or concerning large losses. Settle large or complex claims with your own authority or escalate issues, as necessary.
- Continually assess and improve workflows to ensure efficiency. This includes responding to and partnering with internal and external contacts regarding issues affecting them and ensuring smooth relationships between the group and other stakeholders.
- Work closely with your Director to develop strategies and long-term and short-term plans to facilitate ongoing work, process improvement, customer relations, and other functions
- Monitor financial performance and productivity and report observations, progress, and recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Provide your expertise on claims matters including liability determination, policy interpretation, strategies, and settlement negotiation.
- Provide effective leadership, coaching and mentoring, performance management, continuous learning, and career development for claims professionals.
- Maintaining a virtual and physical touchpoint with your leaders and teams.
- Provide superior customer service by building and maintaining excellent business relationships with our key stakeholders including our Insureds, Insurers, Brokers, Marketing and Underwriting colleagues;
- Adhere to all internal Claims Best Practices.

**What You Bring to the Table**
- College or University degree (preferred)
- 10 + years of related experience with a strong emphasis on liability and property handling as well as insurance litigation;
- CIP or equivalent designation;
- Exceptional understanding of insurance coverage issues;
- Proven exceptional communication and time management/organizational skills;
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, capable of working in a fast-paced and changing environment;
- Demonstrates a passion for customer service with strong written and verbal communication skills;
- A minimum of 2 years in a Management role with experience in coaching and mentoring people.
- Excellent customer, communication, and interpersonal skills - you can relate to anyone
- Positive attitude while adapting to changing priorities and taking ownership of work.
- Experience handling municipal claims an asset;
- Adept at working in a paperless environment.
