**Principal Responsibilities**
- Determine strategy for supplier and CRO management in line with business needs
- Make sound data driven decisions regarding supplier performance, contractual obligations, and long-term partnerships
- Partner with key functional areas e.g., corporate finance, other procurement teams, legal/contracts, accounts payable and human resources to plan, manage, report and drive efficiencies and alignment related to all aspects of contract delivery metrics. This includes both ongoing management of contract demand as well as forecasting and long-range planning in concert with the overarching business strategy
- Partner with stakeholders, central Procurement and Legal teams to develop Master Supply/Service Agreements (MSA), Letters of Intent (LOI), Statements of Work (SOW), etc. Assist in the identification of potential suppliers and develop/co-develop request for proposal (RFP) packages. Engage with respondents throughout RFP process to ensure clear understanding of requirements and development of high-quality proposals
- Navigate challenging supplier performance issues as needed via direct business-to-business discussions, and via contractual/legal escalation pathways as needed
- Develop and own initiatives and projects towards financial and supply performance targets in terms of value, reliability, compliance, and complexity reduction (cost reductions/avoidance, supplier/portfolio rationalization, reliability, compliance and sustainability)
- Proactively look for ways to mitigate our risk profile via contract negotiations, close monitoring of supplier performance, and supporting performance improvement initiatives
- Routinely scout opportunities; stay on top of the evolving supplier and CRO landscape across multiple categories; develop and maintain up-to-date supplier databases that are review-ready at any given time
- Balances the interest of multiple internal and external stakeholders while effectively leading change in business strategy and processes
- Works closely with Finance and the Operations Team, manages and oversees ERP workflows and ERP system implementation (NetSuite) as it relates to procurement and all associated training and policy requirements. Ensures procurement workflows align with internal policies.
- Proactively oversees and facilitates vendor selection criteria, service agreements and material requirements, related to both research and development as well as operational activities.
- Mentors staff on processes and skills related to sourcing and procurement of capital equipment, assists with budget forecasts.
- Works with Technical Operations, CMC and Operations, assists with purchasing requirements impacted by FDA or other statutory or compliance frameworks.
- Actively works to foster an environment of effective and collaborative working relationships amongst employees, management, and external partners.
- Other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications, Education & Experience**
- University degree or diploma in a business-related discipline
- 7 - 10 years of related experience within the biotechnology and/or pharmaceuticals industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or APICS certification or equivalent.
