**Direct Reports**:Warehouse - Shipper/Receiver

Inside/Counter Sales

**Primary Objectives**:

- Supervise branch staff, with the exception of Outside Sales personnel, maintaining strong and positive internal relationships
- Work to resolve employee concerns quickly and in strict confidence, keeping Branch Manager updated on staff management issues
- Implement & enforce company polices/procedures in a fair & consistent manner
- Promote teamwork and ensure staff is receiving proper training to maximize their effectiveness in their positions
- Promote superior customer service and branch profitability
- Handle customer concerns quickly and professionally
- Keep customers and staff up to date on new products, coordinating seminars and new product introductions
- Demonstrate personal responsibility and accountability daily, with regard to job performance, attitude, professionalism and commitment to continuous development
- Promote & support the company’s Core Values of Personal Excellence, Teamwork and Achievement

**Safety Accountabilities**:

- Responsible for all Health & Safety communication to employees (i.e. new/updated policies/procedures, safety talks, review of near misses and branch audits results.
- Be aware of the common hazards in the branch: ergonomic issues, slips/trips, cuts, hand/foot injuries, incorrect lifting, working on ladders; and demonstrate leadership by ensuring staff follow safe work practices when performing their required tasks.
- Work in compliance with Section 27 of the OHSA (Duties of Supervisors); follow company Health & Safety policies/procedures & correct substandard acts or conditions in a timely manner.
- Accompany H&S worker rep on workplace inspections (min. 2 per year) and perform employee safety observations regularly.
- Ensure timely & thorough accident investigations in the branch as required.
- Maintain a regular schedule of maintenance on any branch equipment or vehicles in addition to responding to unpredictable malfunctions or issues.
- Attend annual Health & Safety training as required

**Other Key Accountabilities**:

- Supervise branch operations and branch personnel
- Ensure efficient and safe functioning of all warehouse processes, including transfers (invoice adjustments/re-orders), inventory management, Purolator usage reports, receiving PO's.
- Prepare daily cash reports and deposits, and handle any miscellaneous banking requirements (i.e., change, smaller bills)
- Maintain effective invoicing procedures in the following areas: processing of invoices, hold queue, credit - re-bill, customer credits/returns, pricing issues, month-end closing
- Create job quotations and support/oversee Inside Sales with their quotations; turn bids into orders
- Manage vendor returns
- Prepare warehouse, schedule employees and oversee process for yearly inventory
- Schedule staff to ensure coverage on phones, counter and pager at all times
- Make arrangements for temporary employees to cover employee absences when required
- Track and approve payroll information, including overtime hours and absences and send to Kitchener in a timely manner
- Participate in the interview and hiring processes for both temporary and permanent employees, as required by the Branch Manager
- Actively support other supervisors in all branches
- Advise Branch Manager of deadlines/duties not being met, with recommendations to eliminate the issue
- Maintain efficient functioning of office equipment including: phone & alarm system, fax machine, photocopier; and ensure sufficient supply of stationery items
- Other related duties, special projects/assignments as required

**Requirements**:

- Five years plumbing or HVAC experience with demonstrated product knowledge
- Proven supervisory skills including experience hiring, coaching, disciplining, scheduling and providing training for employees
- Ability to deal with situations quickly and calmly under emergency conditions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high pressure for results, organizing and managing multiple tasks
- Ability to exercise sound judgment when dealing with customers and employees
- Ability to lead and motivate a staff to meet and exceed personal and company goals and objectives
- Ability to achieve strategic goals and objective with little supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining good working relationships with customers and employees
- Ability to create and work in a team environment to achieve both company and personal success
