Support Staff Temporary Full-time New Initiatives and Opportunities Contract Position (Two-year contract)

The Community Outreach & Marketing Specialist is responsible for identifying and creating a marketing/outreach plan that seeks out demographics that require the employment services of the Career Centre. While marketing the services, the incumbent will be responsible for positively influencing the decision-making of individual job seekers and referring agents and employers/employer associations to register for Conestoga Career Center (CCC) services. This role is responsible for Facilitating information/orientation sessions in the community and actively partnering with community stakeholders in order to increase registrations for the Conestoga Career Centre services and generate employment outcomes for Conestoga Career Centre clients.

**Responsibilities**:
**Marketing & Community Partnership Development**
- Identifying outreach activities through in-person connections within the College, community, social media, and the organization’s website
- In collaboration with the Customer Service Liaison team & Management, creates creative marketing collateral and responsive media content for promotions, newsletters, impact stories, and social media campaigns
- Cultivating community relationships and key stakeholder engagement with relevant community organizations for establishing referral arrangements
- Establishing transparency and expectations with community partners for organizations to be engaged at appropriate levels in reciprocal relationships
- Connecting job seekers and employers to the Career Centre brand
- Preparing and deliver messaging, content, and communication across multiple digital channels and in-person information/presentations for community partners, groups of students/clients, employers, and associations
- Organizing and participating in community activities such as job fairs, road shows, trade shows, and employer networking opportunities to develop, maintain and enhance relationships with industry, business, funders, and other community employment providers
- Responding to inquiries regarding the Career Centre services, other CCWIL programs and services available at the College, for both individuals and employers

**Customer Service**
- Assessing the customer service experience through anonymous feedback, focus groups and structured survey/evaluations

**Employer Services**
- Generating high employer conversion rates and contributing to job development and job placement and employment outcomes
- Collaborating with employer service teams at Conestoga to present the full suite of recruitment and training opportunities, and filling the talent pipeline for all businesses
- Customizing employer campaign meetings with company staff, researching their business, networking, and using targeted marketing/outreach strategies to create and maintain effective relationships with the employer community, coordinating with other programs in the community where appropriate

**Documentation**
- Reporting an outreach information to team colleagues and management in an accurate, complete, and timely manner
- Maintaining a database of community partners and documentation for funder & College data collection purposes
- Tracking client referral and pathways and weekly activity reports on marketing and outreach activities
- Collecting and consolidating up-to-date client and employer records, workshop, or information session participation, in accordance with funded program guidelines and departmental procedures

Qualifications:

- Two-year diploma with the following preferred areas of study: Communication, Human/Social Services, Marketing or Public Relations
- Minimum of three years in an educational setting, not-for-profit, providing employment and/or immigration services, sales, marketing, and outreach
- Excellent interpersonal and communication, written and oral skills (presentation skills important)
- Ability to respond with tact and diplomacy while valuing diversity, superior customer service orientation, and attention to detail
- Qualities of salesmanship and a natural passion to help others
- Strong computer skills with proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite of products
