Fanshawe College - St Thomas campus is looking for a part-time Facilitator/Instructor for the Academic Upgrading Program located in our Elgin Mall location. The Facilitator/Instructor will:

- Facilitate students' learning in GED preparation and ACE credit courses including, math, language arts reading and writing, science and social studies
- Tailor delivery to the needs of the student, adjusting content in accordance with program guidelines and learning plans
- Demonstrate excellent communication, presentation and questioning skills and techniques responding appropriately to the participants' needs for clarification and feedback
- Provide positive reinforcement and motivational techniques, adapting instructional methods and strategies to accommodate individual and group differences
- Maintain appropriate documentation and report on students' progress
- Follow up with new, current and past students
- Conduct entrance assessments
- Develop individualized training plans
- Make appropriate referrals to community resources based on student needs

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-secondary education in employment and adult education
- Strong math tutoring/teaching skills
- Two to five years’ work experience in employment and adult education
- Familiarity with GED, apprenticeship, employment trends
- Advanced facilitation techniques to personalize delivery of content and enhance the student's overall experience
- Experience delivering training in an employment or academic setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design and techniques
- Demonstrated continuous learning values in their own professional development

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4 months
Part-time hours: 4 per week

**Salary**: $23.87 per hour

Schedule:
