Tipi Moza is a small but vibrant and evolving non-profit organization. We are seeking to hire a part-time **Building Maintenance Worker/Cleaner**to join our team.

**PREFERENCE**_ **WILL BE GIVEN TO QUALIFIED CANDIDATES OF INDIGENOUS ANCESTRY WHO SELF-IDENTIFY AS SUCH.**_

**BUILDING MAINTENANCE WORKER / CLEANER**

Perform minor maintenance & repairs related to buildings, grounds, and equipment in one or more areas such as electrical, plumbing, painting, and grounds-keeping. Responsible for ensuring the building is clean and tracking resident chores.

Key

**Responsibilities**:

- Establishes, monitors, and carries out preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for buildings, equipment, and grounds. Ensures building and equipment meet all safety, security and fire regulations and policies. Makes recommendations for major repairs and purchases to the supervisor.
- Performs minor carpentry, electrical, painting, mechanical and plumbing maintenance, and repairs such as repairing furniture, constructing shelves, installing switches, replacing plugs and other basic appliance repairs.
- Collects and removes garbage and recyclable materials and ensures the safe disposal of hazardous waste.
- Clean external areas such as entranceways, sidewalks and parking lots using manual brooms, rakes, shovels, and other equipment to remove dirt, leaves, snow and other refuse. Performs minor gardening and lawn maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, pruning, and watering.
- Completes and maintains related records such as maintenance logs and security incident reports.
- Transports equipment, furniture and supplies manually and/or using aides such as dollies and carts. Operates a motor vehicle to pick up and move goods and supplies. Arranges furniture for special events.
- Performs other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience completing general maintenance, ability to work alongside our clientele demographic

**Must be able to provide an acceptable criminal reference check including vulnerable sector**

- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing plumbing systems, electrical systems, and HVAC systems
- Conduct inspections to identify and resolve maintenance issues
- Respond to maintenance requests from tenants or property owners in a timely manner
- Supervise and coordinate the work of external contractors when necessary
- Fabricate or repair equipment and structures as needed
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Provide excellent customer service to tenants and property owners
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment

**Experience**:

- Proven experience in general maintenance work
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Familiarity with using CMMS software for maintenance tracking
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week
