- As the Technical Writer and Training Liaison you will edit complex documents and manage sensitive information to create professional working procedures. You will work to ensure that staff have the most recent training for their position by reviewing and updating the Training Matrix. Primary duties include:

- Work with document users to ensure that documents meet their needs and will be useful to them.
- Write, edit and ensure Standard Operating Procedures (approximately 15 to 20 per week) comply with the Codes of Practice used in Water Treatment. These documents must be accurate and follow OH&S (Occupational Health and Safety) guidelines.
- Work with technical experts to ensure that procedures are accurate.
- Write, edit and maintain Water Treatment’s Emergency Response Plans, Standards & Best Practices, and Codes of Practice.
- Update and maintain the Water Treatment online documentation and forms for all Water Treatment sites (Glenmore, Bearspaw and Secondary Stations).
- Manage, organize and compile information regarding SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) processes. This includes reports, training presentations, performing testing on new versions and updates and addressing troubleshooting with the Livelink and Framemaker systems.
- Update and maintain online documentation.
- Collaborate with Learning & Employee Development, all Water Treatment staff and other business units to organize training.
- Review and update training matrix to ensure legislated/compliant training requirements are met.

**Qualifications**

- A completed 2 year diploma in a related field, and a completed certificate in Technical Writing (E.g., Mount Royal University Technical Writing certificate) with at least 3 years of related experience OR;
- A degree in a related field, with 1 or more courses in technical writing along with at least 1 year of related experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, Adobe Captivate and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- A valid class 5 Driver's License with access to a personal vehicle for business use.
- Proficiency in using relevant work processing, page layout and web editing software.
- Thorough understanding of technical writing principles and advanced writing skills.
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
