Position Summary :
The Technical Writer is responsible for creating and maintaining product specifications, standardized work instructions, end-user operating manuals, and other engineering documentation required to produce, utilize, and service all products manufactured by Exro.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, analyze, and create engineering documentation using technical writing theories, methods, and tools. Create and ensure that the technical content of all documents is correct and approved by the relevant technical lead.
- Verify document content quality by consistently managing and organizing information for accuracy and readability.
- Identify, analyze, recommend, and implement solutions to cross-functional projects relating to technical writing and business process efficiencies.
- Establish and manage relationships from document to document, within document content, or to other points of reference for product information.
- Initiate, coordinate, and lead cross-functional writing projects; negotiate project priorities, deliverables, and timelines to meet the needs of compliance and supported functional areas.
- Explore new writing methods and technologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
- Ownership and support of continuous improvement activities at a personal, departmental, and cross-functional level.
Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in technical writing in electronic systems development.
- Experience developing user-friendly formats and templates for customer/external publications.
- Excellent comprehensive written and verbal communication, interpersonal, presentation, analytical and project management skills.
- Skilled at prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Collaborative cross-functionally and strong individual contributor in a dynamic environment, leveraging or engaging others to accomplish project goals.
- Strong verbal and written communication, able to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Demonstrated organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Previous CAD and Adobe Suite and Design Illustrator experience is a plus.
- Automotive Industry and Technical Service Manual experience is a plus.
