**Position: Research and Development Supervisor**

**Location**: Ayr, Ontario (Near Cambridge, Kitchener/Waterloo)

**Hours of Work**: Monday to Thursday 8:00AM-4:30PM; Friday 8:00AM-2:00PM

**Primary responsibilities**:

- Develop new materials and processes to satisfy customer requirements
- Supervise a team of R&D Engineers to successfully develop new products to present and sell to our current and future customer base
- Lead development of new technologies and innovations for customer presentation
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Develop cost-saving and value added opportunities
- Promote the transfer of new technologies and materials from Engineering to Production
- Lead internal and customer requested DFMEA & PFMEA activities
- Aggressively pursue opportunities to patent new technologies developed in-house
- Direct, review and approve product design and changes
- Lead the Research and Development Engineering team activity in growth and technical development

**Qualifications (education & skills required)**:

- University education in Mechanical, Materials, or Manufacturing Engineering
- 3-5 years of experience in Product / Research and Development engineering capacity within an automotive manufacturing environment
- Experience working within a Tier 1 automotive manufacturer with direct dealings with OEMs
- Knowledge and experience with steel and aluminum forming
- Knowledge of automotive fluid routing systems, including oil lines, A/C lines, and BEV cooling systems
- Advanced knowledge of patent process both in North America and internationally
- Proficiency with CAD software (Unigraphics/NX, Solidworks)
- Ability to lead a cross-functional team across all areas of the organization to achieve common goals
- Experience in a leadership role within an automotive manufacturing environment would be an asset
