**Summary/Objective**

The HSE Supervisor is accountable for the implementation and monitoring of health, safety and environmental management systems. This includes providing occupational health and safety advice to the plant staff to facilitate compliance with Plant and Bend-All’s H&S requirements, occupational health and safety legislation, guidelines, and standards to support plant’s health and safety program and initiatives, and implementation and maintenance of Bend All’s ISO 14001 systems.

**About the Role**
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to other departmental team members on Health Safety and Environmental processes, procedures, and best practices.;
- Collaboration and development of requirements and knowledge of environmental, health and safety management systems with appropriate input and participation of other departments’ leaders and team members.
- Accountable for the facilitation and monitoring of the Plant Health & Safety Program to eliminate the risks causing workplace incidents and injuries.
- Accountable for the facilitation and monitoring of a safe work environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Accountable for WSIB claims management and both occupational/non-occupational return to work.
- Conduct investigations for workplace accidents and injuries.
- Accountable for identifying, developing, and delivering health and safety policies/procedures/forms/work instructions.
- Accountable for identifying, developing, & delivering health & safety training requirements for the workforce.
- Maintain employee training records.
- Conduct audits to ensure safe plant operations, facilitating corrective actions with plant management as necessary.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Collect and analyze statistical data pertaining to the plant’s health & safety management system and present to staff. Prepare reports to support various health and safety initiatives for both CA and Global.
- Provide ongoing support/guidance/participation as a member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
- Provide ongoing support/guidance/participation as a member of the global HDT safety committee.
- Participate in Company health & safety initiatives (such as strategic meetings, conference calls, audits, special projects, etc.) to ensure site representation, inclusion, and consistency.
- Provide support and guidance to leadership team regarding health and safety compliance and best practices.
- Maintain information pertaining to health and safety on health and safety boards and T2/T3 boards.
- Create and release weekly health and safety toolbox talks.
- Maintain (M)SDS online database.
- Provide support/guidance/participation for implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 system
- Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the EMS and ISO14001:2015.
- Initiates, recommends, or provides solutions through designated channels.
- Verifies the implementation of solutions.
- Creates and distributes EMS-related communications.
- Determines and managers availability of Resources.
- Reports on the performance of the EMS, including opportunities for improvement and overall performance to top Management, with consideration of environmental aspects
- Ensure EMS training requirements are all fulfilled.
- Complete environmental audits as required, as ISO internal auditor
- Establishes, implements, and maintains EMS procedures and WIs to ensure that all team members conform with the EMS requirements, policy, procedures, and work instructions, and understand impacts and aspects of environmental management, their roles and responsibilities, consequences of not following EMS.

**Key Qualifications**
- Diploma/ Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, in the process of obtaining certification or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Degree as a Kinesiologist, Ergonomics is an asset.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Valid Advanced First Aid Certificate or Emergency Medical Technician Certification is required.

**Technical Qualifications**
- Knowledge of applicable Provincial/State safety legislation and regulation, Occupational Health and Safety standards is required.
- Knowledge and understanding of implementation of ISO 14001 systems
- Strong leadership and communication skills
