**Overview of Position**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Maintain COR certification
- Monitor company safety reporting for quality, content, and execution.
- Preparing and conducting safety training and OH&S safety training sessions for employees, clients and sub-trades as required.
- Managing and training work sites on the use of Material Handling Processes
- Manage and track all training certifications required for each employee
- Visiting job sites to conduct safety-based audits and training on personnel, equipment, materials, and general site conditions.
- Support the development of HS policies and programs, standardize health and safety and document staff information, and reports compiled for management
- Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery, WAH, etc.)
- Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures and promote safety initiatives
- Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity, and stop unsafe acts
- Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances, etc.
- Record and investigate incidents to determine causes
- Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
- Establish a cordial and professional relationship with employees

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- NCSO designation is required
- 3 years' experience as a Safety Officer
- Knowledge of OH&S regulations
- Knowledge of COR certification requirements
- Certificate in occupational health and safety
- In-depth knowledge of legislation and procedures
- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems a plus (SiteDocs)
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics

**Other Qualifications**:

- Train the Trainer certification an asset.
- Familiarity or experience in Construction Industry
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail, strong problem solving, multi-tasking, and excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
- Ability to work independently to gather, analyze, and organize data, define problems and requirements, and recommend solutions
- Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.

**Work conditions**:
May include travel, ability to lift 50+ lbs, required safety equipment, hazards associated with the trade, work both indoors and outdoors, construction sites, noise, irregular hours.

Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
