Job Overview*

We are seeking an Apprentice to join our team and learn the ropes of the construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to kickstart their career in carpentry and construction.

A roofer apprentice assists in roofing projects, performing tasks such as:

- laying out materials, smoothing surfaces, and installing various roofing systems.
- follow safety guidelines and utilize equipment like hoists, hand tools, and nail guns.
- Unique to their role, apprentices may work with specific materials like BUR, PVC, and EPDM, as well as perform tasks such as spreading gravel and using torches.
- Assist in overlapping successive layers, gauging distance of overlap with chalking and by lines on shingles.
- Perform built-up roofing and single-ply roofing duties according to specifications.
- Working in intense weather (heat and sub-zero), tolerate moderate levels of noise and encounter wildlife
- Performing essential roofing job activities: heavy lifting (50 lbs), twisting, bending, use of both hands and arms, kneeling, squatting, standing and/or walking for long periods and climbing ladders and/or scaffolding

**Requirements**:

- Assist experienced roofers in various construction projects
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints
- Perform heavy lifting tasks as required
- Gain hands-on experience with hand tools and equipment
- Support in and perform caulking and sealing tasks
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment

*Skills*
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Physically fit and able to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical documents.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with a team and customers.
- Basic math skills to make calculations and measurements on the job site.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when necessary.
- Carry materials and tools to job sites
- Help with measuring and cutting materials to fit specific roof dimensions
- Assist in the removal of old roofing materials
- Ensure cleanliness and safety on job sites
- Learn and adhere to safety guidelines and procedures
- Assist in the maintenance and organization of tools and equipment
- Attend training and development programs as required
- Ability to perform heavy lifting duties
- Interest in learning roofing and construction skills
- Familiarity with hand tools is a plus
- Willingness to follow instructions and learn from experienced professionals

Pay: $22.90-$27.35 per hour

Additional pay:
