**Your Role and Its Impact**:
The Billing Specialist will be responsible for the execution of financial management within a growing portfolio of services.

In more detail, the Specialist will:

- Take direction from the IT Asset Contract Manager and the Technical Architect responsible for the financial viability and sustainability of our digital services. Responsibilities will include understanding and executing the intricacies of cost recovery processes, leveraging both integrated and non
- integrated tools; providing accurate reporting to stakeholders on multiple levels, across multiple platforms, and understanding and reporting on budgeting and forecasting; while achieving successful year end balancing of our digital service recoveries.
- May support the technical authority in prospective information gathering, initial meetings evaluating service proposals, technical proposals from both internal and external stakeholders, and making implementation recommendations to senior stakeholders for sustainable financial solutions in cost recoveries.
- Responsible for general financial/billing inquiries related to Contracts, year end processes, budget forecasting, management and balancing of cost centres and GL’s, and subsequent reporting.
- Provide support to clients in navigating the sustainable design, build, implementation, and operational financial management for the Digital products and services.
- Coordinate as necessary with external suppliers to ensure that the smooth financial operation of our services.
- Ensure fair and equitable processes as pertain to procurement regulations within Government.
- Provide mentorship and/or supervision for junior staff, as required.
- Assist with building a culture of continuous service delivery and improvement, ensuring that key processes are regularly analyzed, maintained, and improved.

**To Be Successful, You Have**:
Proven experience to bring to the role of Billing Specialist, to assist Government in delivering on a digital and technology strategy for Nova Scotia; you are passionate about managing financial projects in relation to services offered. You have strategic leadership experience, a track record of delivery, digital awareness, and a data-driven approach to interpreting financial data. You have the professional acumen to instinctively approach every financial component of this role, with an appropriate level of urgency.

You are experienced in IT technology and understand current technology trends and service provision. You have proven experience in cost recovery, financial reporting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data; as well as a full understanding of accounting principles related to the balancing of cost centres and GL’s. Navigating the complexity of Government finances, and intricate layers of financial health for IT Asset Contract Management, sparks your curiosity and your success will rely on your financial expertise.
