ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Methanex is currently seeking a full-time Inventory Control Technician, Turnaround to join the team in Medicine Hat, AB. This position is temporary in nature with a contract duration of approximately 18 months, effective January 1, 2024.

The Inventory Control Technician, TAR engages in a variety of warehouse and distribution activities to ensure and maintain an effective and accurate inventory level, allowing for mínimal plant downtime and maximum efficiency.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
Maintains a proper level of inventory and provides a very high level of service
Sets up new items in inventory when needed
Conducts and reviews month-end reports and statistics
Conducts cycle counts to ensure correct inventory quantities
Issues pick tickets and verify quantities being issued
Processes inventory items that need to be reordered and provides requisition for purchasing
Contacts vendors concerning inventory management problems
Receives materials accurately and in a timely fashion
Follows Quality Control procedures in accordance with Alberta Boiler & Pressure Code
Uses forklift/pallet jack to unload and move product to on-site locations
Supervises vendors on site if they have not been indoctrinated
Marks and puts away inventory on shelves
Maintains warehouse in a safe, clean, orderly condition and follows safety policies and procedures
Completes paperwork and forwards to Accounts Payable
Uses CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software
Issues tools to employees and contractors and inspects tools when returned; orders replacements if tools are broken or damaged
Uses Tool Watch (Computer Program) to monitor equipment
Ensures employee and contractor compliance with Methanex policies, procedures, and applicable standards
Acts as designated legislative compliance contact person for ensuring legislation in the area of expertise is complied with and proposed changes/updates communicated
Ensures compliance with all Pressure Equipment Integrity Management (PEIM) responsibilities, relative to role, as per the PEIM Manual
Conducts all business in a manner that supports the Responsible Care ethic
ABOUT YOU

In order to qualify for this role, you will need a high school diploma and a valid Class 5 driver's license.

Additionally, the following skills and experience will be strong attributes:
Parts Technician Ticket an asset
Industrial lift truck operator safety training course
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information training an asset
