What you’ll be doing

You’ll be part of the Marketing Modernization team who are responsible for Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) regulatory oversight for our Bank. In addition to ensuring that CASL regulatory requirements are followed enterprise wide, Marketing Modernization team is responsible for developing the strategy, roadmap, and business cases for delivering one-to-one direct and digital marketing for our clients that will lead CIBC to become the #1 bank in client experience.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing Regulatory Initiatives, this Consultant role is responsible for supporting the team as an Oversight Function lead for CASL regulatory compliance across all business groups, including consultative support and guidance to new initiatives that involve commercial electronic messages (CEMs) and computer programs (apps).

How you’ll succeed
- Regulatory monitoring - identify applicable regulatory requirements, monitor changes and compliance with the requirements across the Bank; communicate proposed, new, and amended regulatory requirements to impacted Business Units and Compliance group (via the Regulatory Developments Dashboard).
- Risk assessment - analyze and risk assess regulatory requirements; perform effective challenge to the Business Units’ self-assessments on Change Initiative Risk Assessments (CIRA) for CASL regulatory compliance.
- Reporting - support the Senior Manager, Marketing Regulatory Initiatives, to design and produce CASL Regulatory Compliance Management related reporting: effectiveness template, material regulatory compliance incidents or events, effectiveness of key controls, deficiencies remediation, etc.
- Relationship building - maintain active and effective communication with the Business Units’ Single Point of Contacts (SPOCs) to ensure effective processes and mitigations are in place to manage CASL risk across organization.
- Training - support Legal team with development and delivery of CASL training sessions for the Business Units’ SPOCs.
