**Prerequisite**:

- Successful completion of pre-employment testing.
- Possess a Secondary School Diploma.

**Principal Tasks**:

- Receive and process the telephone calls for police, fire or ambulance service in accordance with Service policies and procedures and 9-1-1 rules and regulations.
- Monitor status of incidents and notify the Platoon Staff Sergeant or designate of all delayed, emergency or serious calls for service.
- Dispatching the appropriate emergency service (Police and Fire);
- Respond to requests for support services from field personnel (i.e. dispatch ambulances, tow trucks, etc.).
- Maintain radio communication and provide support to Police and Fire personnel;
- Maintain effective coverage of patrol zones by selective deployment or dispatching of personnel
- Maintain Fire Department Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System.
- Respond to requests for support services from field personnel;
- Perform record queries using available resources when required.
- Excellent communication skills;
- Able to work as part of a team;
- Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities;
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and demanding environment;
- Ability to take initiative and address issues before they develop into problems;
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills;
- Well-developed data-entry skills in a computerized environment.

Compensation: $69,204.38 - $80,817.85
