Peer Assisted Care Team (PACT) Manager (35 hours/week)

We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead our community-led mobile crisis response team, PACT.
This program is an alternative service model to the emergency services on the North Shore and attends mental health and substance use crisis calls 16 hours per day. The successful candidate will lead a team that dispatches from a central location to various locations in community to provide consent-based, non-judgmental support meeting individuals where they are at. They must have a strong understanding of the various barriers to access to the healthcare system, knowledge of community resources, and a perspective of cultural safety and humility.

Reports to: Director of Operations

Direct reports: PACT Assistant Managers, Casual PACT staff

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with BC Division and other PACT service providers across the province through working groups, meetings, evaluation etc.
  • Promotes collaboration with other CMHA programs and services including but not limited to counselling, outreach etc.
  • Works to meet or exceed program dispatch targets set in collaboration with BC Division and other service providers.
  • Makes recommendations to Director of Operations on program policies and procedures.
  • Recruits, orients, trains, and retains a qualified team of Mental Health Professionals and Peers to operate the program.
  • Ensures staff complete required training, adhere to program policies and procedures, and engage in accordance with CMHA values in their interactions with clients and their colleagues.
  • Leads regular team meetings and actively participates in management and staff meetings.
  • Positively represents the program with community partners, clients, stakeholders, and rights holders.
  • Oversees day-to-day operations (including effectively managing workflow and timelines pertaining to a variety of projects/tasks simultaneously, in various stages of completion).
  • Ensures that schedules, program documentation, statistics, client notes etc. are documented in accordance with CMHA policies and relevant privacy legislation.
  • Provides recommendations and oversight of the operational budget.

Qualifications
  • Minimum undergraduate degree in counselling, social work, psychology or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum of five years people leadership experience
  • Experience working with people living with disabilities and/or multiple barriers including poverty, racism, trauma, non-dominant language, culture, sexuality or identified gender, and mental health or substance use challenges
  • Experience in the field of crisis de-escalation, mental health, substance use disorder, and Harm reduction
  • Must have experience with using Office 365 platform and Outlook platforms
  • Valid First Aid and CPR- C with AED Mental Health First Aid ASIST, Mental Health First Aid, Naloxone, Trauma-Informed Practices (or willingness to complete it)
  • Criminal Record Check is a condition of employment
  • Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or able to provide a vaccination exemption from the Provincial Health Officer
  • Valid driver’s license
  • De-escalation training and indigenous cultural competency training are recommended
Hours of Work and Considerations

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-4:30pm which includes an unpaid 30-minute meal break. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.

Location: On location at the Marine Drive office, North Vancouver

Salary: $40-$44 per hour depending on experience

Benefits: 3 weeks of vacation and comprehensive extended health and dental benefits, including Health Spending Account, RRSP.
