**About the position**: The Public Health Inspector actively participates in the delivery of Public Health programs and assists with developing, implementing and evaluating programs and services in compliance with the Health Protection and Promotion Act, Ontario Public Health Standards and all other relevant legislation and municipal by-laws. The Public Health Inspector is responsible to protect and promote the health of the public through inspections, consultation, education, and investigation of premises.

**Qualifications and Competencies**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health and Safety or Environmental Health or equivalent
- Must possess a valid certification with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors
- Experience in infectious diseases and infection control is considered an asset.
- Experience in community-based service delivery
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and the use of a vehicle
- Self-starter demonstrating initiative and with the ability to take appropriate action/direction
- Demonstrated communications, public relations, and conflict resolutions skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team setting
- Ability to provide non-judgmental and inclusive service to all clients
- Working knowledge of office computer software programs is required
- Required to have full COVID-19 immunization and are able to provide evidence of status

Terms and conditions of employment in accordance with the ONA Allied Collective Agreement.

Starting wage range: $38.95 to $47.10 per, 70 hours in a two-week period. Opportunity to opt-in to OMERS pension program.
