**Rotation/Shifts**:
Days, 8 hour shift.
**What you will do**:
Under the primary direction of the Lead, the Specialist 1, Blood Marrow (BMT) is involved in the administrative and operational activities of the department, including assessing patient priorities, assigning workloads, and managing data/resources. The Specialist is also responsible for the implementation/coordination of patient related activities in adherence to clinical standards and internal policies.
This role serves as liaison for internal and external stakeholders, develops educational/research activities, coordinates integration, identifies/addresses operational issues, and makes recommendations for improvement as needed to ensure optimal care/seamless delivery of services to patients.
**Basic Requirements**:
- Bachelor Degree in management or related health care/heatlh sciences field;
- Minimum three (3) years of practical and related experience;
- Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience;
- Experience in Blood and Marrow Transplantation or related field;
- Experience working in HLA-lab or HLA data in a related field;
- Knowledge in Total Quality Management Principles;
- Excellent/demonstrated verbal, communication and interpersonal skills are required;
- Sound organizational and management skills;
- The ability to exercise judgment, tact, diplomacy and strict confidentiality is mandatory;
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving and attentiveness to detail required;
- Analytical skills; ability to multitask;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of groups;
- The ability to generalize and conceptualize ideas and information and to utilize and adapt technical/administrative process on the basis of a broad understanding of principles, practices and procedures;
- The ability to prioritize work;
- The ability to facilitate and resolve problems;
- Expert knowledge of the consultation process as they relate to individuals, groups and systems;
- Demonstrated advanced leadership abilities, team building and change management;
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with quality assurance programs;
- Ability to maintain a high level of concentration;
- Ability to meet deadlines;
- Ability to function productively under varying levels of stress;
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team;
- Developed communication and facilitation skills;
- Eligible to work in Canada.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Completion of Master Degree;
- Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
