**Job Description - Manufacturing Supervisor**

As a manufacturing supervisor, your primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the manufacturing process at our main manufacturing facility. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our Primary steel, Project crates with small parts and managing our shipping and receiving department while maintaining high-quality standards, meeting production targets and ensuring compliance within health and safety standards.
- **Duties & Responsibilities**_

**Leadership and Team Management**:
**This position has a team of approximately 10 manufacturing workers (Welders, Fitters, CNC operators)**
- Lead and supervise a team of manufacturing workers and Material handlers.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to enhance team performance and individual growth.
- Foster a positive and safe work environment, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Shop Foreman for the Armour Steel and Dewitt locations
- Collect time cards and submit them to the manufacturing supervisor
- Collect weekly KPI’s and submit them to the manufacturing supervisor
- Maintain and update project master schedules in regards to fabrication completion
- Coordinate with Millen shop supervisor in regard to scheduling
- Maintain consumables
- Fill in on the floor when needed
- Complete morning toolbox talks

**Production Planning and Control**:

- Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring alignment with customer demands, production targets, and inventory levels.
- Monitor and track production progress, identifying bottlenecks, and taking corrective actions to minimize disruptions.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure the availability of raw materials, equipment, and resources required for production.

**Quality Assurance**:

- Implement and enforce quality control measures to guarantee adherence to product specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify defects, non-conformities, or process inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to analyze data, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

**Process Improvement**:

- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
- Analyze production data, identify trends, and propose solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase output.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvement initiatives.

**Health and Safety Compliance**:

- Ensure a safe work environment by promoting and enforcing adherence to occupational health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, taking necessary preventive and corrective actions.
- Provide training and promote awareness among employees regarding safe work practices and the proper use of personal protective equipment.

**Reporting and Documentation**:

- Prepare and maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation, including production volumes, labor hours, and quality metrics.
- Provide regular updates and reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators, production status, and areas of improvement.
- Strong leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills are also crucial for collaborating with cross-functional teams and motivating your staff to achieve production goals while maintaining quality standards.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Minimum 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques.
- Proven knowledge of manufacturing, handling, and shipping legislation.
- Requires understanding of inventory and inventory control processes.
- Working knowledge of an ERP system is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.
