**Position Overview**:
The Line Supervisor Welding/Fabrication is responsible for the operational supervision of a team of employees in planning and directing production and fabrication of welding and fitting work assignments while ensuring quality, efficiency and production objectives are achieved.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Supervise a team of employees responsible for welding/fitting, fabrication and equipment and material movement.
- Coach and create a successful positive team environment.
- Review production schedules, processes, specifications, and related information with the Production Manager.
- Plan, assign, and direct work, take corrective action, administer discipline, address complaints, and resolve problems.
- Assist in designing fabrication and production processes that maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Organize work by observing and studying work assignments, blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
- Responsible for ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on an operator level (machine related)
- Reporting any damage, defects, areas of concern to the Maintenance manager (machine related)
- Assist in developing fabrication and production standards in cooperation with production management and project management.
- Prepare material and equipment lists.
- Train staff for new processes and provide instructions and manuals.
- Manage processes for documentation and preparation of production reports.
- Ensure all quality, efficiency and production objectives are achieved.
- Assures necessary equipment, personnel, tooling, and materials are available.
- Work proactively to ensure deadlines are met.
- Recommend and implement measures to improve fabrication and production methods, equipment performance, worker performance and quality.
- Demonstrates leadership and involvement in the implementation of all continuous improvement activities.
- Conducts accident investigations as per Fero’s policy.
- Identifying workplace safety hazards. Follow all company Health and Safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ability to work overtime and/or weekends if required.
- Ensure that all employees and production activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Fero Code of Business Conduct.
- Employee may perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in the manufacturing, fabrication, or construction industry.
- 3+ years’ experience leading teams
- CWB Welding Supervisor Certificate - CSA Standard W47.1 is considered an asset.
- Currently or previously held CWB welding certifications/tickets
- Knowledge and understanding of CWB Codes/ Requirements W47.1, W59, A660
- Proven ability to build and lead a fast-paced and high functioning team.
- Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Bending, crouching, kneeling, lifting, tight spaces and ladder use
- Working at heights
- Able to work in all weather conditions including outdoors.
- Wearing PPE such as safety boots, safety vest, safety glasses and gloves.
- Must stand for long periods, with frequent lifting up to 50lbs.

**Experience**:

- Supervising: 3 years (preferred)
