**Position Description**:
**Position Description**
- The Trauma Program sits within the Surgical Specialties portfolio.- The **Quality Leader, Trauma Verification** is responsible and accountable for the administrative operational functions and initiatives related to compliance with the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Trauma Verification requirements and partnering on the administration of quality systems for the optimal care of patients.- The **Quality Leader, Trauma Verification** will lead, provide oversight for, and support other team members in the compliance and improvement initiatives required as they relate to document management and control, quality deviations, corrective and preventative actions, and quality improvement initiatives in achieving and maintaining successful ACS verification status.- This role will assist with the Trauma Program Operational Leadership with the achievement of program and hospital's strategic goals including but not limited to, the preparation, internal assessment, training, facilitation of the Trauma Program Verification process as a key measure of success for the program and hospital.**Here's What You'll Get To Do**:

- Alongside the Program Manager, Trauma Medical co-Directors, and Operational Director, ensure the Trauma program complies with Provincial, National, and ACS verification standards.
- In collaboration with the Program Manager, provide support to ensure that a comprehensive, integrated Quality, Safety and Process Improvement program is in place with clear performance indicators.
- Facilitate the preparation and implementation of the verification process, including development of a document management system and record control.
- Lead document editing, formatting, and proofing to create and revise assigned standard policy documents and standard operating procedures as required.
- Responsible for the coordination, preparation, management, and maintenance of all required documentation for verification process in partnership with stakeholders.
- Assess team readiness for Verification and, as necessary, provide supplementary training and education on standards to meet verification criteria.
- Develop and manage document repository access and rights and support audit/inspection readiness activities.
- Use data analytics to understand trends, operations, gaps or improvement opportunities.
- Support and educate programs for continuing education and readiness and proactively monitor and keep up to date with verification changes to requirements and respond accordingly.
- Work closely with, and provide operational support to, other program staff (i.e. data analysts, nurse practitioners, students, nursing leadership, physicians, social workers, administrative assistants) involved in trauma care.
- Review patient charts to be submitted to the ACS Lead Reviewer to ensure complete and appropriate documentation and identify any gaps or concerns to Trauma Program Manager.
- Provide inventory oversite of relevant trauma research and quality initiatives.

**Here's What You'll Need**:

- Professional designation (e.g. RN)
- Minimum 4 years of health care experience at SickKids in a related field (i.e. Trauma, Emergency Medicine, Surgical Specialties, PICU)
- Completion, or in the process of completing a master's degree in a related field preferred; at minimum a Baccalaureate degree in a health-related field required
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Must have a comprehensive understanding of various operational and clinical teams within the hospital
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner
- Effective interpersonal and motivational skills in driving success in teams
- Demonstrates ability to lead others and provide constructive feedback/encouragement
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills and utilization in an array of tools or platforms.
- Awareness of standards and policy development
- Experience with quality improvement principl
