The New Toronto Cooperative Nursery School is a well-established not for profit, community-based preschool in southern Etobicoke. Our nursery school provides a safe, stimulating play-based learning environment where children are offered a wide variety of age appropriate opportunities. Parents play an integral role in the day to day operation of the program, and as Board members who oversee the administration of the school.

**Hours**: 5 mornings a week (8:30 a.m. to 12:130 p.m.) plus preparation as well as ad hoc duties

**Starting Salary**: $18 per hour

**Start Date**: Mid February
- Clear TB test and up to date immunization record
- Current First Aid/CPR Level C training
- Food Handler certification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and oversee/operate a few stations at once

**Job Description and Responsibilities**:

- Assist in maintaining the classroom including care of toys, preparation for art stations, and organization of kitchen area
- Purchase basic supplies for the school relating to classroom needs (e.g. art supplies, snack items, special craft materials etc.)
- Track all expenses and make every reasonable attempt to purchase goods at the best prices
- Prepare and complete distribution of snack each morning according to food allergies and diet restrictions and prepare substitutions if necessary
- Wash and clean art supplies each day, spray tables and keep kitchen clean
- Maintain and clean the washrooms and ensure adequate supplies are stocked
- Manage art areas and assist the children complete art projects. Help them wash hands.
- Maintain playground and outdoor space and complete checklist
- Daily clean up routine including sweep around tables, wash dishes, wash art materials, spray round tables & snack table with disinfectant and let air dry
- Assist in all aspects of school operations as requested, including set up and tear down of equipment as needed, attending open houses, fundraising events, meetings, etc.
- Assist children in bathroom and with changing diapers
- Under the guidance of the Supervisor, help to ensure all necessary Ministry of Education requirements are being met, such as playground safety checks, fire drills, and cleaning checks, toy washing procedures, etc.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
