**Position**: Teaching Assistant (1 Position - CUPE 3902, Unit 2)
EDS265H1F Introduction to Teaching - Builds understanding of teaching as professional practice. The course primarily focuses on the research base underlying policies and documents such as the Foundations of Professional Practice. This course is restricted to students enrolled in the Education and Society Minor.

**Expected course time**: Mondays 1pm-3pm (lecture); Mondays 3pm and 4pm (tutorials)
**Hours of Work**: 140 hours
**Estimated Course Enrolment**: 65
**Dates of appointment**: September 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024
**Salary**: $47.64 hourly rate as per CUPE agreement (currently January 2023 rate).

**Qualifications required**:

- Graduate student in Education (Ph.D. students preferred but Master-level students will be considered). Preference in hiring will be given to graduate students at the University of Toronto.
- Experience teaching in K-12 or university/college settings
- Familiarity with the Ontario College of Teachers Standards of Professional Practice
- Passion for learning and teaching - Must have excellent time management skills
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills
- Must have high capacity for objective, consistent evaluation of student performance

**Description of duties**:
The TA will lead tutorial sections, mark student assignments, respond to assignment-related inquiries from students, track student attendance and monitor participation in classes.
