**The Opportunity**

This role will have on-call expectations during the weekend and it is considered a safety-sensitive position.

**Day shift**:Monday to Friday (7am-4pm) at the shop location, 8-hour days. Field site visits will also be common with the hours dependent on the field site locations and client needs.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide safety support throughout the company
- Works with the safety team to deliver a consistent approach to safety and its processes company-wide
- Implement and monitor corporate safety policies and procedures
- Conduct monthly safety meetings
- Present orientations and training internal staff and contractors as required
- Conduct shop, yard and field site inspections
- Assist in safety program development and continual improvement
- Incident and case management including investigations
- Manage WCB claims
- Prepare and maintain HSE reports and recommend appropriate actions
- Other duties assigned by the Safety Coordinator

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years of full-time safety work in the oil & gas, mechanical construction/fabrication or manufacturing industry
- Experienced First Aider
- NCSO designation or higher would be an asset
- Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or CSTS 09/2020
- Standard First Aid w/CPR (level A or C, 2-day course)
- H2S Alive
- Ground Disturbance Level 2
- Have a valid driver's license (min. class 5)
- Being able to provide a 3-year driver's abstract (less than 1 month old. No more than 2 minor convictions within the last three years. No major convictions (ie. impaired driving, dangerous driving causing death/bodily harm).
- Experienced in driving in adverse conditions and comfortable with doing so
- Be hands-on and proactive in dealing with safety-related issues. Boots on the ground required
- Majority of time to be spent on the shop floor, yard and field ensuring compliance to Alstar'sSafety Management System
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Create an environment that fosters respect
- Bring a collaborative approach to decision-making
- Strong computer skills (Google suite experience is an asset)
