**Position Overview**

The **Bookstore** in **Ancillary Services** is currently seeking a Full-time **Clothing and Custom Goods Coordinator**.

The primary responsibility of this Custom Goods Assistant Coordinator position is to ensure the smooth operation of our promotional products business for departments, faculties and staff on campus. This requires the selection and purchasing of conference gifts and promotional products that meet the budget needs of different stakeholders on campus and inventory control within an approved budget. This position is also responsible for providing support to customers, departments and faculty who work with the bookstore. This support may require providing information, assisting with technical difficulties, answering general questions about the store, and following up on problems. Additionally, this position is expected to work as a vital member of the Clothing and General Merchandise team, and assist with all other team tasks as required.

**Position Description**

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Work with vendor representatives and catalogs to select and order custom promotional items that are of interest to Bookstore customers.
- Ensure that orders are placed with appropriate vendors, and following up on all orders to ensure their on-time delivery and identify issues early.
- Monitor sales and inventory to meet annual goals and objectives and identify areas that are doing well, or those that need to be reviewed.
- Ensure that inventory is maintained, displayed correctly, and shelved properly.
- Train necessary personal in correct processes and procedures.
- Provide customer support.
- Maintain records in the computer system.
- Generate reports appropriate to responsibilities.
- Inform the area supervisor of any concerns/issues that arise so that the appropriate action can be taken.
- Work to ensure the success of the clothing and general merchandise team as well as the book team through effective communication, teamwork, and problem identification and solving, and decision making to meet the Bookstores goals and objectives.
- Maintain multiple projects and tasks with a variety of deadlines and priorities while staying organized to ensure that nothing is missed.
- Understand and follow bookstore policies and procedures.
- Work with other members of the bookstore to ensure adequate coverage of the sales floor.
- Manage time and other support duties.
- During peak periods, work with other team members to prioritize and ensure all time-sensitive tasks are completed.
- Provide coverage to other bookstore roles when necessary.

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- A post-secondary degree in business or a related discipline.
- A wide range of experience in higher education environments and a demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service is necessary.
- Several years of retail and or sales experience is required. Significant experience working within the promotional products industry is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively and interact respectfully with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong computer skills are required with experience in Excel, Word, and Outlook. Previous database experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills to make sound purchasing decisions.
- Must be a team player with outstanding organization and communication skills and the ability to process and synthesize large amounts of information.
