At Sinai Health, we care, create possibilities and offer hope. We are looking for an experienced **Physician Assistant** to support our **Inpatient Cardiology Service **at our** Mount Sinai Hospital Campus.**

The Physician Assistant (PA) works in inpatient Cardiology working under the direct supervision of the Attending Cardiologist.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assists in assessing patients, reviewing with staff physicians to develop a plan of care, performing procedures, providing patient education and counselling, arranging interventions and post-discharge appointments, interacting with other team members and community partners to gather and share information and obtain consultation. 
- Anticipates patient needs and obstacles. Sets realistic goals for patient care that lead to optimal results, enhanced patient satisfaction and quantifiable service improvements based on evidence-based practice.
- Promotes a culture of patient/staff safety that encourages open discussion of issues and reporting of incidents. 
- Models and encourages personal accountability; identifies and uses individual and team strengths to improve results; challenges self and others to meet team goals. 
- Supports a common team purpose and direction. 
- Values the unique expertise and contribution of each team member. 
- Supports team successes and works to resolve issues or concerns by providing an opportunity for dialogue in an open, fair and objective manner.
- Models respectful, reflective collaboration.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Job Requirements- Successful completion of the Physician Assistant Bachelor Degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCA).
- Previous Cardiology experience an asset.
- Demonstrate good problem solving and analytical skills, creativity and initiative.
- Ability to communicate and read using English in order to effectively perform essential requirements of the position.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- sound understanding of, and commitment to patient and family-centered care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history.
