As an organization, we provide support to the greater Squamish Nation Community through service. With 12 departments with individual areas of expertise, we ensure Community Members have access to necessary programs and services.

**About The Opportunity**:
Working as an integral part of the Ta na wa Yúus ta Stitúyntsam̓ Rights and Title Department, reporting directly to the Referrals Manager, the Senior Legislative Policy Analyst will work in collaboration to manage intake, assessment, internal engagement/consultation, and development of responses focused on the review and revision of provincial and other levels of government legislative amendments. You will conduct policy analysis and research activities including preparation of reports and recommendations, and will champion values of innovative and provide expert advice on policy development, key policy issues facing departments, and policy best practices. The incumbent is a skilled information gatherer, a highly effective verbal and written communicator, and have strong analytical thinking. This role also requires sound judgement and excellent organizational abilities. The position is responsible for reviewing and evaluating a variety of programs, services and policies, and undertaking assignments of considerable importance in the engagement with external governments on their implementation of the United Nations Declaration of Rights of Indigenous Peoples principles into their laws, regulations and practices. This position will conceptualize and lead legislative amendment referral processes involving research, conduct policy research and issues monitoring, and prepare materials including briefings, presentations, proposals, submissions and other policy documents as needed.

***Salary**: $ 83,518 - $ 95,607 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits program
