**Job Description**:
As a Data Development Technical Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and driving the data engineering initiatives within Global Excel. Your primary responsibility will be to technically lead a team of data developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and solutions. You will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient flow, storage, and processing of data, enabling data-driven decision-making and empowering Global Excel to extract valuable insights.

**What does your typical day look like?**
- Lead a team of data developers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Assess resource availability and skill sets to allocate tasks effectively. Consider individual strengths and expertise when matching team members with tasks that align with their capabilities.
- Clearly communicate task assignments, expectations, and timelines to team members. Ensure that everyone understands their responsibilities, deliverables, and any dependencies with other team members' tasks.
- Participate in setting performance goals and objectives with each team member to align their individual contributions with team and organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Lead data engineering projects, set priorities, allocate resources, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions, adhering to project goals, budgets, and deadlines.
- Monitor the workload of team members to ensure an equitable distribution of tasks. Regularly communicate and adjust assignments as needed to maintain a balanced workload across the team.
- Ensure data team’s assigned tasks are tracked, deadlines respected, and progress monitored. Regularly review task status, provide support and guidance, and address any issues or obstacles that may hinder task completion.
- Regularly review completed tasks and provide constructive feedback to team members. Recognize achievements, identify areas for improvement, and encourage continuous learning and growth.
- Establish clear evaluation criteria and metrics based on job responsibilities and performance expectations. Communicate these criteria to team members in advance to ensure transparency and clarity.
- Design and develop scalable, robust, and efficient data architectures that support Global Excel's current and future data needs.
- Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines, ensuring the smooth and reliable collection, transformation, and loading of data from various sources into data repositories.
- Establish data quality standards and implement governance processes to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency throughout the data ecosystem.
- Continuously monitor and optimize data infrastructure, including databases, storage, and processing systems, to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Stay up to date with emerging data engineering technologies, tools, and best practices, and provide recommendations for their adoption to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

**What skills and training do you need?**
- Extensive experience in data engineering, including hands-on experience with data integration, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data pipeline development.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL), database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL), cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Snowflake), and data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark).
- Deep understanding of data architecture principles, data modeling, and database design, with the ability to design and implement scalable data solutions.
- Proficiency in data governance frameworks, data quality management, and data security principles.
- Proven experience in leading and managing a team of data developers, driving their professional growth and delivering successful outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in leading data engineering projects, managing priorities, and delivering projects within scope, time, and budget constraints.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data scenarios, identify patterns, and design optimal solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, translating technical concepts into clear business terms.
