**Data Scientist**
The Data Scientist plays a key role in the development and maintenance of AI capabilities in the company. This includes active participation in technical delivery and support of AI use cases, as well as the oversight of the enterprise AI platform. Responsibilities also include working in close collaboration with our AI Technical Lead and Business Analyst who are responsible for the overall technical delivery of the AI program.
**What does your typical day look like?**
- Contribute significantly to data science projects by supporting the entire lifecycle of use cases.
- Act as a SME on the most recent GenAI/AI capabilities and best practices.
- Support the AI Technical Team to define the use case requirements, project plans, processes, dependencies, and complexity estimates.
- Deliver ad-hoc data science and AI engineering tasks.
- Process the end-user feedback, handle the post-deployment issues, and implement the necessary use-case improvements. Rare off-hours incident management might be necessary.
- Manage the post-deployment AI operations and use case reporting.
- Assist in the setup, administration, and continuous improvement of AI platform capabilities and tooling.
- Assist in the AI Platform configuration for specific AI use cases and business needs. Help the end-users in their platform operations.
**Major Challenges**
- Navigating the complexity of integrating cutting-edge AI/GenAI technologies while ensuring they are practical and aligned with business goals.
- Facilitating effective communication and collaboration between technical teams, non-technical stakeholders, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless delivery of AI use cases.
- Addressing post-deployment issues and ensuring continuous improvement and scalability of AI use cases, while minimizing downtime and maintaining operational efficiency.
**Success Measures**
- Successfully deliver AI use cases that meet or exceed business expectations in terms of quality, timelines, and alignment with strategic goals.
- Maintain high levels of operational efficiency in AI platform management, with mínimal downtime and rapid resolution of post-deployment issues.
- Achieve high levels of satisfaction among internal and external stakeholders, reflected in positive feedback on collaboration, communication, and the impact of AI initiatives.
- Ensure the continuous success of AI use cases post-deployment through effective monitoring, feedback processing, and iterative improvements, leading to measurable business outcomes.
**What skills and training do you need?**
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, a Master’s degree would be considered an asset.
- 2+ years experience in machine learning, LLM use cases, analytics, data science, or similar roles.
- Experience in post-deployment support and continuous improvement for AI and analytics use cases.
- Familiarity with any domains such as AI engineering, Model Lifecycle, Lean/Agile, MLOps/LLMOps, Data Management, Responsible AI, and AI Governance will be a plus.
- Hands-on experience working with GenAI use cases, AI agents, LangChain, Hugging Face, PyTorch or TensorFlow, MLFlow is a strong asset.
- Experience using AI/GenAI platforms like Dataiku, Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, Snowflake Cortex, etc. is preferable.
- Excellent Python and SQL skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal, teamworking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
