**Location**:Brampton, ON with expectation to travel 50% of the time
**Position Summary**:
The Transportation Sales Manager will play a critical role to deliver on our vision to be an integral partner to our customers by providing transportation solutions for supply chain needs throughout North America. The Manager will be part of a high performing sales team driving aggressive growth targets of a 3rdparty non-asset-based transportation provider.
**Responsibilities**:
- Review, analyze, and respond to RFP’s.
- Target existing warehouse customers while developing new relationships.
- Be familiar with transportation terminology, process, and procedures.
- Respond and assist incoming/forwarded customer inquires.
- Connect with prospects through LinkedIn, cold calls, and referrals.
- Facilitate account set up and on-boarding with internal team.
- Complete follow up on new clients to compare expectation with execution.
- Provide input on pricing to the sales and broader transportation team.
- Work with the Transportation GM and team to develop the tools needed to grow the category and capitalize on opportunities.
- Transportation service focus for all existing and new clients.
- Meet high sales targets and support the aggressive North American growth and expansion plan.
**Required Skills/Experience**:
- Minimum of 5 years in a warehousing/logistics environment.
- 2-3 years of successfully meeting sales targets in non-asset-based transportation environment within the food industry, preferrable temperature-controlled environments.
- Have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel approximately 50% of the time.
- Familiarity with the RFP process.
- Effective communication and relationship building.
- Creative solution design, sales, presentation, and negotiation experience.
- Independent, results driven, charismatic, inspiring, and trustworthy.
- A good listener with the ability to instill confidence and work collaboratively with others.
- Have a thirst for securing and closing deals.
- Able to prioritize, multitask, and consistently work within tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a changing environment and able to successfully adjust to changing priorities and projects.
- Working knowledge of the market and the competition.
- Forward looking and anticipate market swings and upcoming capacity trends.
- Solid computer skills including Word, Outlook, Excel, and willingness to learn internal systems.
**Academic/Education Requirements**:
- Post-secondary education in Transportation/Logistics, or a relevant field.
- CCLP certification or other related Certification and/or Designation is an asset.
